RAUB - Eight inmates of Rumah Anak Yatim Ummu Zainab, Kampung Bukit Rampong nearby survived the storms that caused the roofs of houses were severely damaged by fallen tree branches. In the incident at about 5 pm yesterday, all the orphans were resting in the house after the Asr prayer in congregation. Founder of the orphanage, Norhisan Mohd Shaharim said that he was in Kedah rushed home after receiving a call at about 5.30pm from one of the guards at the orphanage. "When he came, I found pounding the two branches are located about 40 meters from the house already destroyed the roof and demolished the tent where the rest of these children. "The roof on the exterior of the fallen and damaged trees at all due to a 60-meter width of about 1 meter," he said when contacted yesterday. He said the disaster had been informed of the village committee and they also take the information to the attention of the responsible parties. He said residents of Ummu Zainab Orphanage has a poor family background and lived there for more than two years ago. "This is the first incident and we are thankful for all of them survived even though there may still be traumatized and shocked by the powerful storm," he said.
